Can I use any laser treatments after being diagnosed with presumed Polymorphic light eruption? (photos)

In April I have started laser hair removal on legs and bikini. In late June I have been put on Trimethoprim and after 2 weeks on it got a rash on my back body. Ive been diagnosed with PLE. Since then I was avoiding sun at all and it has faded but not totally. What can I do with the rash and can I continue on laser hair removal? Steroid thickened hair on my tights so I'd like to finish it as well because I have Pcos and excessive hair. I'd like to use laser for acne too.

This can be easily treated with a mild cortisone preparation. I suggest contacting your Dr. for a topical solution. You should be able to continue with laser hair removal. Best, Dr. Emer

I can't tell you this for sure but the antibiotic may have sensitized you and may you reacted with PLE.
Laser hair removal should be safe to continue because PLE is stimulated by UV light.  None of the lasers used for laser hair removal contain wavelengths in the UV light range.  Make sure you tell your laser technician about your history, and I would avoid laser hair removal treatments  if while taking antibiotics in the future.
P.S.  look into spironolactone for PCOS, acne and excess hair growth!
