Is it possible for me to go from a 36C to a 36A? (Photo)

Hey, I am currently a 36C, 20 years old, 5'6" and weigh 130 lbs. I feel very uncomfortable with the size and shape of my breasts and think they do not fit my body very well. I already noticed they got way saggier in about a year, this will continue and it is natural, but it wouldn't be much of a deal to me if they were smaller. I have bad posture because I am always trying to hide them or protect them when I have to run or do sports. The size and also size of the areolas make me very unhappy.

You are a good candidate for a breast lift. I would advise against a reduction even if you are thinking of getting an A cup. Breast lifts and reductions often end up much smaller than you think as the swelling goes down. You don’t want to be made overly small because your breasts will not have a nice shape.

You are a good candidate for a breast reduction especially if you are experiencing symptoms or simply prefer smaller breasts. The amount of reduction can be tailored to your specific wishes, but an exact bra size is difficult to guarantee.  An in person evaluation is always best to determine the optimal type of procedure, but in your situation, a lollipop incision would work.

Hello, thank you for your question. Very large breasts have the natural tendency to sag or hang low, so breast reduction surgery will lift them up and help them look perkier under tight clothing. The gram amount is dependent upon the density of the breast tissue and the volume removed. No direct correlation exists with cup sizes.

Your breasts are too low on the chest wall and asymmetrical in volume, shape and position.  The technique I recommend is a lift using The Bellesoma Method.  This will reshape your breast tissue creating upper pole fullness without implants, elevate them higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase your cleavage.  The weight of the breast is transferred to the underlying pectoralis major muscle resulting in pain relief and long term stability.  Vertical scars are avoided, nipple sensation (in 95%) and the ability to breast feed are maintained.  The areolas can be reduced to the size you desire.  Best Wishes,Gary Horndeski, M.D.

breast reduction is best suited for women who wish to decrease the size of their breasts. While there are different techniques used to perform this surgery, I prefer the vertical incision (lollipop pattern) breast reduction technique instead of the anchor scar pattern, which reduces more noticeable scarring than usual. I also use a SAFE liposuction technique to reduce additional fat around the stubborn axilla area and bra line. It’s certainly possible for you to have a breast reduction. A breast  reduction and typically involves a lift and during this procedure a reduction can be done removing various amounts of breast tissue and excess skin.
This procedure can be covered by medical insurance but a solid argument needs to be made that it is truly medically indicated which usually includes the surgeon anticipating how much breast tissue is going to be removed and documenting that the patient has painful symptoms or skin infections related to the size of the breast and that these symptoms cannot be treated without surgery.
It’s not rocket science and I’ve had patients with your size breasts authorized for breast reduction surgery in the past.
alternatively you can choose to pay for this as a cosmetic procedure.
Some plastic surgeons may not be willing to accept  insurance reimbursement which tends to be fairly low in comparison to what plastic surgeons charge for cosmetic surgery.
I suggest consulting with a few board-certified plastic surgeons in your community. Breast  reduction surgery is fairly straightforward bread and butter type procedure  that most plastic surgeons are comfortable and competent doing.
There are situations where patients may be caught in between conflicting variables in regards to how much tissue should be removed and still have the procedure covered by insurance.
I would venture to say that a reduction from a full C cup it to an A cup would probably be considered medically appropriate.
Even with your frame size an  A cup breast would be pretty small.
I suggest having several consultations.
