I am only on my first Invisalign tray and I want my attachments removed. Is this possible?

While the attachments may take some getting use to, they are there for the purpose of moving the teeth  in certain directions. That is why they are all shaped differently. See if you can adjust to them being there. Your end result from Invisalign treatment will be far superior with the attachments than without them.Wear the first three aligners and see if you can accept them for the purpose of achieving a great result and an awesome smile!

Invisalign does a computer simulated version of the progress of your treatment.  I'm sure your dentist has sat down to present it to you prior to fabricating the aligners.  The attachment are there for a reason.  It does take time getting used to them.  Adjustment can be done.  Please, understand that removal of attachments will compromise the progress and the outcome of the treatment.  You should discuss your concerns and desires with your dentist.  Your doctor will be able to properly guide you and address the issue. 

It is very common to have 14 or more teeth with attachments on them during Invisalign treatment.  You can certainly ask to have them taken off.  But if you have them taken off, then you are potentially compromising your treatment, and your teeth may shift into undesirable positions.  The upper lateral incisors are particularly prone to moving unfavorably during Invisalign treatment, and it sounds like those are the ones you want to have fixed.  Your teeth will not likely respond as well to treatment without the attachments, so I would advise against it.

Moving teeth is more complicated than most people think. In order to get the proper alignment and positioning attachments are necessary. You may not achieve the result you want if the attachments are removed. Your dentist will be able to explain this to you in more detail.
