I have a tooth with eroded enamel (top right incisor) and my dentist put composit bonding on it. The first time, it popped off. Second time, It wore down within a few days and it eroded again. Today, I went and had it done AGAIN, I've had it on for 10 hours and almost all of the bonding has is gone. It looks like the whole bottom of the tooth is chipped off because nothing is covering it. I didnt eat or drink for hours after this procedure. If I keep getting this done I'll have no tooth left..

Answer: Bonding The reason that your bonding came off is primarily due to your bite especially on that particular tooth that you have done. The canines are the main force center that guide your bite in all different directions.

Answer: Why does my bonding come off so quickly from my tooth? There are several possible reasons why this is happening. Depending on how much of your original tooth is missing, the more that has to be added, the more chance of breakage or debonding occurring. Also, the amount of extension of the bonding material beyond the break, the greater will be the likelihood of success. You bite or occlusion is also a factor, if your dentist does not check your bite when you slide all the way forward and all the way side to side with your teeth together, he may be leaving areas where there is too much pressure on the bonded material and this can cause it to fail prematurely. Finally, the materials and techniques that your dentist is using could be the cause. There is a new system called EasySmile Veneers that was created by Dr. Harvey Silverman, a cosmetic dentist in the Cleveland area. These veneer are created from a resin material that is formed on your tooth and create a very natural looking result that blends in with your other teeth. They are stain resistant and strong, and very affordable compared to traditional porcelain veneers. I would suggest that you have your dentist contact Dr. Silverman and learn the technique. It will help him solve your problem, and it will enable him to do more affordable and successful cosmetic dentistry on more of his other patients. You can do a google search for Dr. Harvey Silverman and for EasySmile Veneers and find out more about this new, exciting, cosmetic technique. lt is not branded and very few people are aware of this system and its capabilities. We are getting rave reviews from patients that we are providing this service to. Good luck, I hope this helps you!
