80% of visible tooth remains. Want to see real tooth in front. Also, can't tuck a crown under gum. What if: Tooth filled with same build-up used for crown. Plenty to grip to as tooth is hollowed leaving only enamel. Prepare surface of build-up to grip to bonding. Bond a thin layer, like any bonding. Chew stress on top, but any bonding gets stress. (Include ceramic top onlay for stress?) Premolars take FAR less pressure than molars. Where does this fail?

Its almost impossible to ascertain from the photo. If there's no soft decay on clinical examination and there's nothing on the xray, then its most probably a stain.
Most of the time small chips on front teeth can be fixed with bonding (or also known as white fillings or composite fillings).
Almost all bonding can discolor over time. You inquired about getting an "easy fix". There are two options in my opinion.
One, get just the front of this bonding...
