I am 40yrs old, I have had 2 microneedling (pen) sessions, 6 weeks apart for tackling fine lines, collagen production, general colour/texture and a scar (not acne). My health care professional can't book me in again for 8 weeks. Is that too long to wait for it to be optimally effective? Should I bother with 3rd session?
Answer: Recommneded to do these treatments 4 weeks apart for optimal results. Pair with multiple treatments to achieve skin goals Our office has many different treatments for scars depending on the depth of atrophy or hypertrophy. Scars require a combination approach using our HI DEF protocol which uses a combination of lasers, topical scar modulation, and RF treatments to pixelate scars, improve contour, reduce hyperpigmentation, and improve the visibility of the scars so that they are no longer visible in ambient light. Everyone has a unique pattern of scarring and we employ our HIDEF technique to improve texture, color, contour, and topography. We often use a combination of treatments that begin with a careful examination to examine the micro texturing of the acne scars. Atrophic scars and indented scars can benefit from injectable fillers such as Radiesse, Sculptra, and Restylane with or without subcision to remove tethered scars and atrophic depression. Hyper-redness in scars can be improved with V beam laser, Excel V, BBL, IPL, and Venus RF to improve the redness and reduce the visibility of deep scars. Fractional Thulium laser and clear & brilliant can also reduce the inflammation and redness of the scar when combined with topical therapy. Fractional lasers such as Fraxel, erbium, and CO2 laser can be combined with radio frequency and also fractional RF to improve textual issues and microtopography. Subcision and TCA cross are also used for deep ice pick scars and narrow valley scars in order to improve the micro texture. Above all, our combination approach with our clinical nurses and board-certified plastic surgeons can improve the quality of your skin by using at home Melarase creams combined with PRP treatments in our office to improve your skin quality and tone. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with an experienced team of experts in order to reduce your scarring. Finally, hyperpigmentation of scars can be improved with at-home Melarase AM, Melarase PM, and Melapads to help reduce active PIH and melanin deposition. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Realself100 Surgeon

Answer: Microneedling frequency Hello Bright863288, My name is Melanie I am a Medical Aesthetician at Aesthetic Skin located in Chicago IL. I do recommend that you complete your third microneedling treatment. Although, it is best to keep your series at 4-6 weeks apart 8 weeks is not going to disrupt your treatment. After your 3 treatment if you have already reached your goal it is recommended to maintain results by completing maintenance treatments every 6-12 months. I hope this helps. Should you have any further questions please feel free to contact our office to schedule a skin consultation, 312-944-0117

Answer: Microneedling Ideally, microneedling sessions are done four to six weeks apart but you will still see benefit if you wait eight weeks. You should be using medical grade skincare products appropriate for your skin type to help maintain the results of your treatments, as well as sun protection. A cosmetic dermatologist can assess your skin and determine which products would be best for you.

Answer: ...keep going! Microneedling with a skin pen type device or the more robust approach using a radio-frequency (aka an energy source) combined with a micorneedling device is one of the easiest and most "bang for your buck" skin maintenance treatments available. A series of microneedling treatments is the best way to stimulate the body's ability to tighten and stimulate the growth of new skin structures. The treatments can be done as soon as 4 weeks apart and no matter when you choose to do them, it will benefit your skin's health and slow the aging process. After the initial series and maintenance of 2 times a year is recommended depending on the level of wrinkles, scars or skin thinning that is being addressed. Microneedling creates micro-damage at different depths of the skin layers, including and beyond the epidermis. The physiological effect is that the controlled injury signals your body to begin a wound repair cycle and thus activating collagen growth along with other supporting structures. In the long run, this provides reinforced or new skin structure support that stimulates skin healing and results improvement of skin quality, texture, reduction of damaged skin and tightening. Microneedling can be enhanced with regular skin peels (addressing turn over of the outer layer of skin and fine wrinkles) and medical grade stem cell skin products. If done regularly, the overall effect slow the skin's aging process.
