How should I remove the dog ear after mohs?

I am a bit confuses as I got different answers about removing the dog ear. One said remove it when doing the repair and another one said do it 3-6 months after surgery. Saw my surgeon today and now he says to massage it as hard as I can to,make it go down and to massage deep ridging on the side of my nose. He said laser and dermabrasion are a waste of money.

This can be done as soon as 3-6 weeks after surgery, but most will say to waist 3-6 months.  I often use lasers and subcision with excellent results.  I suggest seeing a cosmetic expert for this type of treatment. Best, Dr. Emer.

Many Moh’s surgeons
will repair dog-ears during the surgical procedure if at all possible.  If not, many will wait up to six months
before seeing if it is necessary to actually do a repair or to see if they have
“settled” into the skin and have a minimal effect on the final scar.  If so, using an appropriate laser can then be
done to further minimize, if not almost eliminate the scar.  Your surgeon is your prime source here and
has developed a routine that has worked well for him or her.

are ideally attended to three to six months after surgery. It is best to allow
