Just had bone grafting in June, getting dental implant & crown in Oct. But my teeth is not straight. I had braces previously and results were temporary as my teeth moved from not wearing retainers. I would really love to have an aesthetic smile. My self confidence has suffered bc of it. I am leaning towards veneers but should I get veneers first before my implant/crown in October? Or vice versa. I'm open to any suggestion on how to proceed with attaining a wonderful smile! Help :-) Thanks
Answer: Implant and veneers, what is best timing? I would suggest waiting for the implant t be ready to load before doing veneers for the best esthetic result. The good news is you can use the healing time to create provisional restorations that will guide the look of your final smile. The nicest cosmetic caes start with a diagnostic wax up that is then transferred to your mouth as provisional restorations. It is easy to make changes in the provisionals that are then duplicated in final restorations. This avoids bad surprises after cementation. In addition the missing toth can be included in the provisionals which helps establish ideal implant placement.Good luck with your new smile.I would treat your case a little differently if I was ging for the best results. I would start with a DNA Appliance and orthopedically grow your upper jaw wider for a fuller more pleasing smile without dark buccal corridors before the veneers or provisional. It is possible to do segmented provisionals and a DNA Appliance but ...

Answer: Looking for an aesthetic smile I would highly encourage you to see an orthodontist and have your cross-bite on the side with the missing tooth corrected along with any other malocclusions. During this treatment your orthodontist should be able to place a pontic (acrylic) tooth onto the wire to give the appearance that your canine tooth is not missing. If the crossbite is not corrected then the crown you restore the implant with as well as any veneers will be too short and not match its counterpart on the other side. You will also be more at risk to chipping and fracturing of the porcelain of the crown and any veneers you place on that side. You may find after orthodontics that you are not unhappy with your natural teeth and avoid the extra expense. If, however, you decide to still have veneers placed after ortho, do so at the same time you are restoring the implant so the lab can give them the optimal shading to match. Here are the stages I would recommend:1. Complete orthodontics- this will set the stage for the placement location for the implant and proper dimensions of the future crown.2. Implant placement while wearing your retainer which can also have the pontic tooth present as discussed above.3. Restoration of the implant with crown after final implant healing (This would also be the time to have veneers done if you do decide to go that route).4. WEAR YOUR RETAINER!!!

Answer: Dental implants and veneers From the photos that you have provided I do not think that you need to get veneers, Orthodontics and then restoration of the implant I think would give you the best result without having to prepare any teeth. Good luck to you

Answer: Options after braces and bone graft Great question about your smile. You should do a smile trial to decide if you want to change your smile with veneers. Ideally you would do veneers and Implant together. Find a cosmetic dentist who can give you an idea of how you would look with veneers. Also discuss whitening and some tooth colored bonding instead of veneers. If you whiten you want to do that first before finishing your Implant as well! Very exciting!
