5 implants uncovered 3 days ago: dentist had to trim the gum to uncover one implant. Improvement?

I then had my denture attached. My dentist took out most of the palette. Today is the 3rd day and I feel my gums are more swollen under the denture. I am concerned that the swelling is caused by the permanent denture which I can't remove. Do you think it can be irritation from the permanent denture or is it swollen due to the work done 3 days ago? When should I see improvement?
