Is it safe to do dental bone graft (emergency due to old implant got bad infection) during pregnancy?

I found out my implant got infect with bone loss at 6 weeks of pregnancy. My surgeon said I need to remove the implant and at least do the bone graft. He told me not to wait because the infection looked bad already. Within 2 weeks after seeing him, the site got swollen and big. Ob wants me to wait until 2nd trimester (1 month from now). I don't know of that infection could wait. What is the risk of doing it now (removal and new bone graft)? Thanks

Hello. Of course treatment costs vary from country to country but this price is "a little" expensive I think. Because the same treatment which include extraction of single tooth, bone graft, guided tissue regeneration and sedation is 952$ in our clinic.

The answer is yes. You can most definitely have a gum/bone graft without dental implants. There are several indications for this and your concerns are very valid from a clinical standpoint. In fact, your bridge might be supported much better in many instances following gum/bone grafting. You...

If you are talking about orthodontically moving teeth into grafted bone, I wouldn't recommend it, but that is a better question for an orthodontist.
