I had an x-ray done at my chiropractors office yesterday and notice a “hole” like bubble on one implant. Can anyone tell me what this could be?
Answer: Abnormal x-ray of implant Dear amapp911, based on your X-ray, it is most likely air inside your stomach, not your breast implant. Daniel Barrett, MD Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery

Answer: 'hole in implant' If your chiropractor couldn't read this x ray, it makes me wonder why they should be practicing anything medically related at all or allowed to take x rays. That hole is not in your implant, it's an air bubble in your stomach.

Answer: Air bubble in stomach It's a gastric air bubble superimposed over your implants. A lateral view would easily confirm it. If you have other concerns about your implants you can schedule a visit with a plastic surgeon and they can examine for problems such as rupture or capsular contracture. If you have silicone gel implants, many plastic surgeons can do ultrasound in office to check for rupture. If you have saline implants, they go flat when they rupture and it is pretty obvious to the patient.

Answer: Xray and breast implants Thank you for posting your question here!My answer will be based on the limited information and pictures provided, for a more detailed and personalized plan please consult with your plastic surgeon in person . It is hard to tell if there is an issue with your implant just based on an AP xray , what you are seeing could be the gastric the bubble ( air in your stomach), that shows on xrays, xrays can look different based on the energy and exposure being used and they only gives you a 2D image. The gold standard for monitoring implants continues to be an MRI, though increasingly people are using ultrasounds. So if you are having symptoms or you are worried about your implants , I would encourage you to ask for an MRI.I hope this helps, best of luck!
