I am continuing to swell. My eyes almost shut. The face is warm to touch. Clear oozing from what looks like tiny blisters all over face. Have been using Spring water cooling gel and Aquaphor as directed.

Yes, swelling and/or redness can be typical and it can take 6-12 weeks for laser results to settle. I recommend following up with a cosmetic dermatologist for after care and skin care recommendations.Sun protection is essential. Lasers like Co2 work best in combination with other treatments in order to improve the skin's texture and collagen. After Co2, I recommend adding fraxel lasers, microneedling/prp and radiofrequency treatments. Best, Dr. Emer

The symptoms you are experiencing are pretty common after C02 laser. Swelling, redness, and some clear oozing are common. After your procedure- you likely have close follow-up appointments for your doctor to see how you are healing. Make sure to follow the post-care recommendations very carefully in order to get the best result possible.

am sorry to hear about your situation. Fractional CO2 laser resurfacing is an
outstanding treatment that can address multiple aspects of aging in a single
treatment. Redness and swelling can last for 1-2 weeks after a treatment. I recommend that my patients use products such as the ones you are using every couple of hours for the first 1-2 weeks after a treatment to speed up the recovery. Ice packs also help decrease swelling. For my patients I prescribe antibiotics and antivirals to prevent infections. An alternative is dilute white vinegar soaks. Patience is important. Please consult with a doctor for specific
recommendations. Good luck!
