Yes, swelling and/or redness can be typical and it can take 6-12 weeks for laser results to settle. I recommend following up with a cosmetic dermatologist for after care and skin care recommendations.Sun protection is essential. Lasers like Co2 work best in combination with other treatments in order to improve the skin's texture and collagen. After your procedure- you likely have close follow-up appointments for your doctor to see how you are healing. am sorry to hear about your situation. Fractional CO2 laser resurfacing is an
outstanding treatment that can address multiple aspects of aging in a single
treatment. Redness and swelling can last for 1-2 weeks after a treatment. I recommend that my patients use products such as the ones you are using every couple of hours for the first 1-2 weeks after a treatment to speed up the recovery. Ice packs also help decrease swelling. For my patients I prescribe antibiotics and antivirals to prevent infections. An alternative is dilute white vinegar soaks. Patience is important.
