I have a dental implant done about 13 years back and I am trying to replace the denture on top of the implant. I am told that I have to know what type of implant I had, even though they were able to take photos and tried to take impression. The dental office which did my implant work is out of state and they have said they do not keep records prior to 2008. So, is it necessary to know what type of implant was done, if so how can I find it ? If I don't have this information, what are my options?

implants do encourage natural bone formation, there needs to be enough space

or tooth is not compromised. The more space between the implant and the tooth,
the better. You may want to ask your dentist...
