Which is better: filler or Sculptra in the temple?

I have been researching both, but I am wondering which is the smartest treatment to fill the temples in in 2022? Thank you.

However, fillers have a vast array of physical properties. The one you want for your temples has a high elastic modulus (which means it pushes against the tissue well). The one that has the highest is Radiesse, which is a mineral based filler. The more common fillers are hyaluronic acid based, and the one that works best for temples is Voluma or Restylane Define. Sculptra has a very low elastic modulus.

I prefer using Sculptra in the temples of my patients as I find that the results are long lasting and the treatments are extremely safe.  The filling is uniform and natural. Due to the concave nature of the temple, Sculptra would the be better option. You could use HA filler, however, it would take multiple syringes to try and fill the area. I hope that helps!

I have used Sculptra and all of the hyaluronics quite literally from their inception. I also do a great deal of fat grafting. The temples generally need a lot of volume. I very rarely treat temples HA's and almost always use either Sculptra or fat. I Other HA fillers cost a lot of money for a syringe that contains only 1cc. That is one fifth of a teaspoon. Temples almost always require more than 1cc for significant correction. There is no published study that can support my observation. However, I started and have continued using Sculptra since it was first approved in 2009. And I honestly believe and have told patients for decades that in MOST patients, a vial of Sculptra creates approximately 4-5 cc of volume. Plus, the collagen it produces lasts far longer than the two year FDA quote. And I have not had a patient challenge me on this expectation. It DOES take about nine months to fully proliferate, and response varies a little from patient to patient. Make SURE your injector is very experienced and is very well versed in terms of rare possible visual complications from intravascular injection.

Hello and thank you for your question! It depends on the route you're looking for. Fillers are hyaluronic based (made up of what our skin is made up of), therefore they are metabolized by our body over time, immediate result, and can be reversed if you did not like the outcome! Sculptra (poly-L-actic acid) is a collagen stimulating injection. Following your Sculptra treatment you will not see immediate results, but will see them around the 4-8 week mark as it takes time to stimulate collagen. Repeat treatments may be necessary to achieve the result you are looking for and cannot be reversed. I believe they both give a great outcome and they can even be done in conjunction! Hello HD.  There is no correct answer, just different pros and cons.  If you had a wedding this weekend, then we would say traditional dermal fillers because the results are immediate.  If you wanted a longer duration, but along with it a higher price, then we would suggest Sculptra.  Both options are good and we suggest hyaluronic acid based fillers like Restylane Lyft or Sculptra.
