Can Filler Injections Cause Blurry Vision?

Question

I've had filler injections put into my forehead above my eye brows for scars that I have. Since then I've had blurred vision and weakness. Is this normal? What should I do? The doc says in 15 years he never encountered a patient with these problems. He always says it can be dissolved if he orders the solution. Also said most has probably spread to the collagen. Need advice. What do I do?

Thank you for your question. It quite rare to have this problem, however vision can be affected if the injected material travels to a blood vessels around the eye. Though this might be unusual but it can happen. I recommend returning to your provider to evaluate your concerns. Best of Luck!

I also have not seen this. I do not see a reason to dissolve the filler. I would recommend seeing an ophthalmologist for further evaluation.

It doesn't seem like the visual changes are related to the filler...but it is remotely possible. You need to get an evaluation by an Ophthalmologist (an MD). Although extremely rare, vision can be affected if the injected material travels to a blood vessels around the eye. Again, this is an extremely rare phenomenon. As far as I know, some vision changes have been written on the medical literature when fat was injected around the eyes, but none with filler.

Yes, Botox injections into the forehead can indeed cause temporary blurred vision.  If this persists longer than several minutes, you should have you vision evaluated along with range of motion.
