Back pain, neck pain bra straps digging into shoulders and rashes between my breast. That's what I deal with. I'm currently over weight at 230-240 I'm working on that now. My question is once I get to my goal weight of 175 is it possible for me to get to a low C bra size? And how much weight is recommended I lose before being considered for a reduction?

Answer: Your BMI will determine how much weight to lose There is an alternative technique called The Bellesoma Method. This will reduce and reshape your breast tissue creating upper pole fullness without implants, elevate them higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase your cleavage. The weight of the breast is transferred to the underlying pectoralis major muscle resulting in pain relief without excessive reduction. Vertical scars are avoided, nipple sensation (in 95%) and the ability to breast feed are maintained. Unfortunately, you have not provided photographs or told us your height. However, a BMI in the range of 30-32 is acceptable for surgery.Best Wishes,Gary Horndeski, M.D.

Answer: Breast reduction Dear Cool1636 Generally speaking, you want to reach your goal weight before you consider a breast reduction, otherwise your results will be suboptimal if you continue to lose weight after the surgery. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations Daniel Barrett, MD Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
