Should I Fast After Zeltiq to Improve Results?

Since the fat needs to be eliminated from the body after Zeltiq, would fasting or a VLCD help results?

You should watch your diet always, and after Zeltiq as it will help protect your investment, but fasting may deplete you of needed nutrients to help you heal well. Whether it's liposuction or Zeltiq CoolSculpting, you want to reduce the overall calories you consume because that's what made the extra fat get deposited in the first place but there's no need to go on a crash diet or fast. Exercise as well as that and diet helps maintain the new shape you may acquire with Zeltiq.

	It is not necessary to fast after the Coolsculpting procedure.  CoolSculpting works by freezing the fat cells and therefore is independent of diet and/or exercise.  It is helpful, however, to watch your diet and exercise to keep your results after the procedure.

Coolsculpting is based on a theory known as cryolipolysis. The fat cells die from controlled exposure to a certain temperature. This is indepedent of dieting and thus diet is not required for results from Coolsculpting.

Zeltiq CoolSculpting does not require any type of diet. Fasting or dieting will not have any effect on Zeltiq results. The CoolSculpting procedure works on its own by selectively destroying the fat cells with controlled cooling. It has proven to be very effective at reducing the fat layer without the additional need for diet or exercise.

The effects of CoolSculpting are not dependent upon patients fasting or going on a VLCD. The ideal patient for CoolSculpting is one who has a localized bulge of fat that is resistant to diet and exercise. It is possible that one can achieve overall greater body fat loss in a cumulative fashion by dieting but I would not expect greater fat loss in the area treated with CoolSculpting by dieting.
