1 week post Septoplasty, one nostril is more stuffed up and I can't smell anything. Will this subside?

I had surgery to correct my deviated septum last week. I got my stents removed today and I can breathe through one nostril while the other is more stuffed up and i cant smell anything. Will this subside? Please tell me this will get better.

1 week after surgery it's pretty common to have some crusts, dried blood and occasionally clots and some in your nose that can affect breathing and your sense of smell. This should improve over time, as healing can take up to 6 weeks.

Make sure you discuss this with your doctor at your post op visit when he examines your nose carefully to rule out any scar tissue or sinus infection postoperatively. Best of luck!!
