How does it work/how long does it take to get a tray replaced? Will I have to pay for it since it wasn't my fault? (photo)

Part of my new Invisalign tray is bent. I was about to start tray 3 of my Invisalign, but when I pulled it out of the package part of one of the teeth moldings was folded over. I tried to put it in and it kind of fit but definitely did not feel 100%. I am concerned about this extending my treatment too much.  I left a message with my dentist and am waiting to hear back.

It is possible for one of the trays to have a small defect.  You should contact your dentist to see if they can adjust it for you so you don’t lose time in treatment. If they can’t Invisalign should be able to send a replacement tray at no charge.

Hi Lindseycoxe,Thank you for posting your question.  First you did the right thing by calling your dentist.  Have your dentist take a look at it to see if he/she can trim it or polish it to fit better. Sometimes, not often, there is a manufacturing defect. Invisalign is pretty good about getting a replacement aligner.  Your dentist will just have to inform invisalign that there is a manufacturing defect and you should have it within a matter of days.  Hope that helps!
