Will septoplasty cure my bent nose and breathing issues? (Photo)

Question

My nose is bended towards one side and i am also having breathing issues, so if I do septoplasty will both these be cured. Will I be able to get a straight nose? I can't breath during sleep especially on one side and it is becoming really tough with time.

Nowadays the term septoplasty usually refers purely to surgery of the internal  septum and breathing area. You appear to have external deviation as well and will likely require rhinoplasty/valve repair and support maneuvers as well as septoplasty. If you have any allergy or other medical issues affecting your breathing they will require additional medical care.

Hi. Thank you for your question. A "bent" nose in and of itself, can be caused by multiple factors. Therefore, a septoplasty may  or may not address this depending upon the cause.  A thorough exam with or without a nasendoscopy and CT scan can further evaluate the causes of the deviation of your nose as well as your breathing issues. You may in fact require a septoplasty, but there may be other issues going on that will need to be addressed by other techniques. Be sure to seek consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon or ENT who is experienced in nasal reconstruction.
