Went to Endodontist for pain in a crowned root canaled tooth. Still have pain and feeling concerned?

said I have an abcess because prior dentist left temp filling in and did not remove when putting regular filling in. dr. cleaned it all out 2 days ago but still in pain. said it's normal and continue antibiotics and advil. I never had such a chronic pain after seeing an endotontist. usually I'm fine right away. concerned

The two most likely scenarios that would cause the symptoms you are reporting involve the margin of the crown (where the crown and tooth structure meet.)  1: Margin overhang or open margin - if the crown does not fit intimately and flush with the tooth then gingival issues like inflammation...

Unfortunately, this question, albeit a good one, is too general.  Now that CEREC has choices in crown material, I think it can be a safe choice for an implant crown.  However, this depends on location, bite, and what this crown is opposing. For example, if someone has a deep bite...

It is in the posterior region and not visible, so if you are ok with the appearance [silver color], then no need to worry. But if you are concerned about looks, choose esthetic [tooth colour] abutment.
