What's the difference between Vbeam and Pulse Dyed Laser and are they safe to use on Asian or African skin?

Are there any differences between them? Are they safe to use on Asian or African skin? How long are the downtimes with both procedures? Thank you to all the doctors who'll answer these questions.

A V beam laser is a type of pulsed dye laser.  This treatment is primarily used to treat red areas of the skin.  It can be used on darker skin types, but the settings should be adjusted for darker skin.  There can be some temporary discoloration, like bruising after the treatment, but if this occurs, it usually resolves within a few days to a week or so.  People with darker skin can get temporary darkening over the treated area and sometimes this can take a few months to resolve.

Vbeam laser is an excellent modality for patients who have rosacea, blushing of the skin, facial and body telangiectasia, spider veins, redness, post surgical redness, and skin flushing. It is a safe procedure that can be used at varying depths to help treat micro blood vessels in the skin. We also use it in our office for facial skin inflammation, keloids, and hypertrophic scarring. It is an important part of scar therapy. Vbeam can be combined with chemical peels and other lasers, but experience with the treatment is essential. The Vbeam laser does not affect deeper tissue.
