Thank you for sharing that! Chin fillers can sometimes help soften or rebalance the appearance of a prominent or upward-pointing chin by adding volume in strategic areas to improve overall facial harmony. However, whether this would work for you depends on your unique facial structure, chin projection, and profile.I’d recommend a consultation where a qualified provider can assess your proportions and discuss whether fillers—or possibly other options would best achieve your goals.
Hi there,That’s a great and very thoughtful question. Chin fillers typically add volume or projection rather than reduce it, so they’re best used to enhance balance and contour, not to make the chin smaller. In cases where the chin appears “stuck out” or overly pronounced, fillers alone usually won’t correct this — they might even accentuate it if placed directly in the chin. However, an experienced injector can sometimes use strategic filler placement in surrounding areas — like the jawline or lower face — to create better facial harmony and proportion, which can make the chin appear less prominent overall. For true reduction of a pointed or protruding chin, a surgical approach, such as chin contouring or genioplasty, may offer a more definitive result.Warmly,
Chin filler definitely is NOT going to be the answer here... at least until you try some other things. From the side pic, it looks like your chin is significantly in front of your dentition/bite, which is a bit unusual. When it's like that, I usually find that the actual issue is not your bony chin but the soft tissue in front, which is almost always the mentalis muscle as a big contributor. If that is the case, doing high dose botox can help to decrease how much the mentalis is bulking up (similar to masseter botox for facial slimming). I
The use of fillers directly for the chin would likely only increase the projection. By contrast, elevating and smoothing the "mental crease," (the horizontal deep furrow between the bottom of the lower lip and the chin) using an appropriate HA lifting filler would immediately lead to the appearance of a less prominent chin. Likewise, adding volume to the upper and lower lips, which appear thin in the photos, using a medium viscosity HA filler, would help to balance and harmonize in profile the projections of the chin, the lips and the nose. You would be wise to consult with an experienced, board certified cosmetic dermatologist filler injector. Hope this helps and best of luck.
What you’re describing is something many women experience postpartum — those subtle yet noticeable shifts in facial structure that come with hormonal changes, fluid balance, and volume redistribution. Even without additional weight loss, the face can lose underlying support in areas like the mid...
In our practice, we prefer to use microdroplet Silikon-1000 injections for permanent results. It is certainly feasible to achieve several more millimeters of chin projection which you may indeed find pleasing. I hope this helps! Sincerely, Dr Joseph
Based on your description, it sounds as though this white line comes and goes after you had a bruise in the area. If that is the case, I am completely uncertain as to what is causing this. If it is in the identical area of the bruise, they are likely related, however, I'm not sure the mechanism...
