Bags after Botox. Did Botox cause permanent damage?

Thank you for the doctors who responded to my question regarding the bag lines under my eyes. Just a follow up question if I may. The bags, caused by under eye Botox have pretty much gone. It’s now 7 months after. What’s left is a low ‘bag’ line. My question is, did Botox cause some kind of permanent damage? Or was this line more than likely already there and I just didn’t notice it? Thanks so so much

It's unlikely that Botox caused the contour that concerns you.  You may review photos from before treatment to see if they were present.  Contours can change for many reasons including age, weight fluctuations, sleep, or allergies.

No one can really answer this accurately. It is best to compare photos you have or your provider has from 7 months ago. You also could have lost some weight and your face lost some volume and the bag became more noticeable. Maybe you developed allergies, etc
Avoid injections for a few months and try skin tightening procedures to improve the quality not the skin around the eyes.

It's unlikely for Botox to cause permanent damage given that its effects wear off after approximately 3 months. It's more likely that the line was already there, or just a representation of the under eye fat herniation that occurs during the normal aging process. Under eye bags may appear to fluctuate from day to day, but a "low bag line" may persist given that there is fat herniation above it. A lower blepharoplasty can help to tighten the fat herniation in this area (this can be done surgical or non-surgically using a device called AGNES RF). A chemical peel can also help with under eye fine lines/wrinkles, which can be done in the same setting. Hope this helps!

I’ve never heard of somebody having a long-term permanent problem from inappropriate Botox injections.
At this point you should be back to your baseline.
