32 y/o - what procedure should I get for my forehead crease lines? (Photos)

Question

I don’t like that I already have crease lines on my forehead and don’t know what procedure I should get to fix this. Since expensive skincare products are not working.

I would recommend getting botox injections to relax your frontal muscle. However, your injector will need to make sure that they stay well above your eyebrows to prevent the forehead from becoming heavy and making you look tired. After performing botox, I would recommend some skin resurfacing and rejuvenation treatments to tighten the skin in your forehead and to remove any deep static wrinkles. Good luck!

Neuromodulators (such as Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, and Jeuveau) and soft tissue fillers like Belotero can improve the appearance of the forehead by reducing lines, wrinkles and folds. Deeper lines and wrinkles need a combination approach with Botox, fillers, lasers, and microneedling/PRP. Unfortunately, there is no surprise that there was little to no benefit from expensive topical creams and serums. Frankly, little more than improving the very superficial texture and color of the skin could be expected from their use. Sorry. After years of actively raising your eyebrows hundreds of times per days, the skin of has become etched and creased to the point that at rest (static) the horizontal worry across the forehead lines persist. In an active cosmetic dermatology practice, this is a very common problem. In order to properly treat this, both the static and the dynamic components must be addressed. Fillers work well for elevating and smoothing the static (at rest component) and Botox works well for quieting down the dynamic component. Both treatments can be performed (most people prefer that) in the same treatment session or each treatment can be performed separately in separate treatment sessions. Just make sure to consult with a board certified cosmetic dermatologist. Best of luck. .

Thank you for your question. Botox can temporarily treat wrinkles and facial creases. When botox is injected the muscles can't contract witch makes wrinkles relax and soften! Botox only takes a few minutes to inject and generally takes effect within 7-14 days. Effects of botox will last 3-4 months.

When we look at wrinkles we determine if they are mobile or static wrinkles. Mobile wrinkles show up only with movement and these can be prevented by botulinum toxin to stop muscle creasing. Static wrinkles if present even without movement requires resurfacing professional grade treatments. Focus on professional treatments under physician direction for best results instead of wasting money on lotions and potions.

Thanks for sharing your photos. It is a single, thin muscle over each brow which lifts them and the “venetian blind” creasing of the skin. 
•	While sun – exposure reduction and collagen stimulating skin care creams are part of the program, they will not reduce nor stimulate collagen-bridging across the already created lines; add this program for maintenance. Initially, consider:
•	Consultation with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon who is expert in forehead motion and skin line reduction.
•	Start with Botox or one of the other injectable muscle relaxers to rebalance the forehead and brow muscles 
•	What is left, similar to your wrinkles, should be filled with a low G-prime hyaluronic acid filler and massaged. You may need a second session for the deeper middle furrows. The combination of injectable “botox” and injectable HA fillers has been found to provide synergy to both and therefore a longer than usual duration for each.
•	As mentioned above, retinoids, sun-block and chemical peels, thereafter.

Are you lifting your brows in these photos? It is important to figure out whether these are 'dynamic' movement wrinkles as neuromodulator may help. The cause of these wrinkles is usually due to the muscle contractions (specifically frontalis muscle or forehead muscle) under the skin, eventually etching lines in the skin. Botox is a neurotoxin injectable that works to help diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by paralyzing the muscles underneath. Common areas treated include frown lines, forehead lines and crow's feet (around the eyes). It's always wise to do your research before going under the needle. Your provider should do a detailed consultation including your medical history, physical examination, and photo consultation prior to treatment. Improperly injected botox in the forehead can lead to droopy brow and eyelid.
