Hi, the main ingredient you need to avoid is any vitamin A derivative in your skincare products... such as renova, retin-a, tretinoin, retinaldehyde... for one week before Picosure, and one week AFTER picosure. No facials, microneedling, microdermabrasion during your treatment sessions with PicoSure.Immediate aftercare includes trying to keep your face cool in the first 24 hours... so no exercises that'll make you hot & sweaty. Avoid steam rooms and sauna. Of course avoid the sun for the first 24 hours. After that, you can go about your daily activity but be sure to use sunscreen. No pool, beach activity for about a week. I give my patients cicalfate post procedure emulsion from Avene to keep skin protected and moisturized during the healing process. As always, sunscreen, sunscreen, sunscreen. I'd recommend one that is at least SPF of 30 and is mineral based.
Pre-procedure instructions include: discontinuing any photosensitizing skincare products 1-2 weeks prior to treatment (ie retin-A, AHA etc), avoid treating if taking photosensitizing antibiotics, do not have a tan (natural or spray tan)Post-procedure: avoid the sun, wear hats, wear SPF, be very gentle with your skin, have a good skin care routine. Alastin tri-hex technology products are helpful to clear the debris of old collagen and elastin and make way for new stimulation and production of collagen/elastin.
Dear Edmonton,ABThank you for the question. To get the best from PicoSure laser skin rejuvenation treatment, do the following:1. It's recommanded to stop all the skin care products with vitamin A derivatives such as retinol, tretinoin..for one week before and after the treatment. 2. No other facial treatment while on picosure sessions such as micro-needling, facials....3. Avoid exercise and sauna or steam room to keep your face cool for 1 day.4. Avoid direct sun exposure for couple weeks before and after treatment. Use physical sunblock with >30SPF LOVA - Lake Oswego Vein and Aesthetic
Tri-luma is a great adjunct therapy when used in combination with the PicoSure to treat melasma, so I would anticipate that you will start to see results quicker than with PicoSure treatment alone. Melasma can be very difficult to treat and I find that combining therapies in this way produces be...
Hi Amanda. We have removed permanent makeup many times with q-switched lasers (Picosure is only one of many) and have been successful even when the permanent makeup changes color (oxidizes). If the makeup turns darker, that's actually easier as darkening pigment responds very well to ...
What is the problem you are trying to improve? The picosure laser can in some case be used in darker skin pigmentation be there is a risk of hyperpigmentation. A test spot must be preformed prior to treatment. I prefer a Vi type chemical peel for pigmentation issues in darker patients. These ...
