Thank you for your question, Picosure can be used on all skin types if done by an expert who is familiar with treating all skin types. An in-office evaluation or photos would be needed to decide which setting would be best for you in particular. For darker skin types I also recommend doing peels, along with Microneedling. I hope, this was helpful. Best, Dr. Emer.
What is the problem you are trying to improve? The picosure laser can in some case be used in darker skin pigmentation be there is a risk of hyperpigmentation. A test spot must be preformed prior to treatment. I prefer a Vi type chemical peel for pigmentation issues in darker patients. These are decisions that need to be made in consultation with an experienced dermatologist or facial plastic surgeon.
Impossible to give settings as a real time evaluation is needed. Spot size, fluence, attenuation, focal distance, passes and speed of delivery are also important variables as well as 'paint ' or 'dwell'' methods. Additionally the use of SPF and tyrosinase inhibitors should be considered in your skin type, depending on WHAT pico is used for. All these variables will be second nature - if you see someone who is experienced in lasing. All the best, Dr Davin S. LIM, Brisbane. AU
Agree with Dr Berman- due to the unknown pigment and lack of understanding I do not treat eyebrows. Oxidation of iron and ti. oxides can lead to this. Your therapist will know what to do- namely retreat, - 755 will be ok, if it runs out of power even with boost, goto the older nano at 1064. All...
With permanent makeup it is common for gray ink to change to a red color post laser treatment. This is due to the compounds used to make the permanent makeup ink. It is possible to remove this color with PicoSure technology, depending on the density of the ink it could take...
This can be explained with physics. You are not immune to the laser- chromophore is black, hence 1064 maybe the optimal wavelength. Unfortunately the PD is fixed, ideally dropping the pulse duration may help. Go back to old fashioned Nano lasers or Picoway 1064. Your tech will know. All the...
Thanks for your question. PicoSure is manufactured by CynoSure. Cutera makes Enlighten, which is a picosecond laser. For PIH, we would use the FOCUS or Flat lenses with PicoSure. I think Enlighten calls their facial treatment Genesis. We have only used the PicoSure and have NEVER expe...
Thank you for your question! Fraxel has 2 wavelengths in the 1550nm and 2940nm range. They go a lot deeper than PicoSure and are better at correcting texture, but really don't help much for brown pigment or blood vessels. This laser is also non-ablative, but you could have redness...
It can take at least 3 treatments (my wife needed 4 and sometimes women will need even more). i believe that using a 4-9% HQ cream is very helpful. you must also use an excellent sunblock. don't give up. the picosure is an excellent laser. also suggest that your laser technician call Cynosure (...
