While hypereryethma can be uncomfortable and itchy, it will resolve within a few days. You are doing the right thing with applying topical hydrocortisone and taking an oral antihistamine. On rare occasions, patients need a short course of steroids to help resolve these "bumps." Just because you get hypererythema after one laser hair removal treatment, does not mean you will get them every time. Try taking the antihistamine starting the day before your next treatment and continue for a day or two after. In addition, make sure you let your laser provider know of your symptoms and how many days post laser the symptoms lasted.
