Can hypopigmentation from hydroquinone be resolved? (Photo)

Last year, I used hydroquinone on some burn marks on my arm as well as some spots on my face that were left from breaking out. I've noticed areas where the skin is lighter as a result. My concern is that it's been over a year and I used hydroquinone (ambi fade cream) anywhere from 4 to 6 months. Could sun exposure regenerate the melanocytes and if so, should I use sunscreen on the spots or would that lessen the effectiveness of said regeneration?
