The lap band surgery sometimes has complications, when the patient has a intense abdominal pain, we have to check by X rays or endoscopy to diagnose slippage or erosion, if you have a complication maybe you could need a lap band removal. 
Remember than the lap band removal could be a same day surgery with a quickly recovery.

The pain could be due to complications like Slippage or Erosion of the Band. In that case an Upper GI swallow study and/ or Upper endoscopy is indicated to evaluate it. Removal of the band will resolve the problem. You may also have an unrelated Stomach Ulcer that needs to be evaluated and treated.Regardless, you should also consider removing the Band and Revision to Sleeve.This could help you resolve the problem and help you maintain the weight loss and/ or result in further weight loss.
