Greetings, I'm 19 years old and I've started using minoxidil for about a month now.. And I've been using it only once a day but I've been noticing something unusual, it's that I have been gaining dandruff-like flakes on my head after itching or after styling my hair the right way when I'm in public, and I'm not sure whether it's from over showering my hair everyday (after used minoxidil every night) in the morning, or its from the medicine itself that's causing this to happen, pls help!

Answer: Minoxidil and Dandruff-Like Flakes and Dry Skin
Thank you for posting your question. It is possible that while starting finasteride, you may experience a bit more increase shedding, but this should last a few weeks, and within months hopefully you get a fuller head of hair. Try Minoxidil as well 5%, this should also help.
Thank you for posting your question. It is not very common for patients to lose hair while being on tetracycline, it is best to seek the doctor that prescribed it, and possibly see a dermatologist. If it's the medication causing the hairloss, then once you stop taking it, it should return....
Any steroids can cause hair loss and acne as well as some other issues. I suggest you weigh the pros and cons of taking this type of medication. Treatments like PRP and progesterone can be used along with minoxidil and finesteride to help limit the loss potential. Best, Dr. Emer.
