Can I go for invisalign without tooth extraction? I do not want to have any tooth pulled out. (Photos)

Question

Recently, I just had a consultation for Invisalign and the doctor told me that I need extraction as my teeth are crowded and big. I already pulled out 2 wisdom teeth one upper row and the second lower row. For me, I do not want to have any tooth pulled out. Do you thibk it is possible for my case?

Hi, and thank you for your question. I completely disagree with the dentist that said you require removal of any teeth before Invisalign. Removing teeth and making your arch (mouth form) smaller research now shows can lead to other problems such as sleep apnea and clenching/grinding. I have been doing Invisalign in New York City since 2003, and in 99% of my cases I chose to expand the arch to create the necessary space. It is also possible to do a little IPR (inter-proximal reduction) or slight shaving of the teeth to gain the room you need. I would suggest you find a different Invisalign provider to give you a new evaluation.

Wow! You submitted great photos. I do not believe you need any extractions to straighten your teeth with Invisalign. I have been improving smiles with Invisalign aligners for 18 years now. I would expand your upper arch which would also broaden your smile nicely. The lower teeth could also be expanded, and some minimal interproximal reduction could be performed if some space is needed.
