Contact dermatitis to minoxidil

Some people are very irritated or even truly allergic to minoxidil. Trying the propylene glycol free foam formulation is a first step. Patch testing by a dermatologist is a good second step. If not irritated or allergic to propylene glycol and not truly allergic to minxodil, some may try a mild steroid compounded in the minoxidil. If this does not help, one needs to consider stopping minoxidil altogether.

Redness after use of minoxidil  is a common side effect. Serum may cause irritation of the skin, redness, dryness, itchiness and dandruff because of alchol content of minoxidil  and very rarely dizziness or even heart palpitations. It would be better to  consider using a lower dose/percentage. All of side effects are assumed to go away soon after stopping to use it.
