Would the bones of the nose move if little pressure and slight movement occurred?

Yes, the nasal bones can float around somewhat in the first two weeks following a rhinoplasty. The first week they are held in place by the splint. I ask my patients to apply gentle pressure, symmetrically, to both sides of the nasal dorsum to help maintain the properly narrowed appearance. After two weeks, the nasal bones have healed enough that they cannot be moved around much with gentle pressure. At this point, you are at the mercy of mother nature and the healing process. You cannot manipulate the tip in the same fashion, in that it is made of cartilage.

Hi ieyeemi,Unfortunately, the kind of Rhinoplasty that you had was not mentioned, however, a slight movement should not have any effect with silicone implant augmentation, or even with tip surgery where cartilage graft had been secured with suture.

There is a lot of swelling on nose in the first few weeks after rhinoplasty. When u tape, the pressure may be more on one piece and less on the other ..that causes water ( swelling to shift ) and slight chage in shape. Sometimes accidental pressing may cause similar effect. If yoy feel any part of your nose is more swollen or uneven , apply tape on that part first , and with more pressure . Slight shifting can be adjusted with tape.
