Yes, you can have laser or light treatments on your face if you use protopic. IPL or intense-pulsed light therapy is an excellent option for visible facial veins. However, it is not your only option. I also offer vascular laser treatments, such as a pulse-dyed laser like Vbeam, which produces excellent results in most patients with vascular issues. It is more specific for vascular problems than IPL, which also treats pigment. Sometimes I use a combination of the two for different areas of the face. For larger spider veins, VBeam works best but for diffuse redness, IPL may be better in some cases. The key to a successful procedure is the ability to personalize your treatment to your precise skin tone and condition. I recommend scheduling an in-person assessment with a board-certified dermatologist who has expertise in treating facial veins. Your doctor can create the treatment program that will provide you with the best possible results.
The best treatments for capillary issues are vascular lasers such as pulsed dye laser, Excel V, Aerolase, Venus Versa IPL, Laser Genesis or Yellow laser. The settings are determined on a per case basis, so it is best to consult with an expert to determine what will work best for you. We often combine vascular lasers with non-ablative fractional lasers such as Clear + Brilliant or Venus Viva for better results. I would suggest seeing a cosmetic dermatologist for a formal evaluation. Best, Dr. Emer.

Our treatments use combination therapy to improve the epidermis and dermis. We see atrophic and hypertrophic scars, as well as scars that have hypo and hyperpigmentation. Our main concern is rebuilding collagen and that is why we use a HIDEF protocol that includes combination therapy. Morpheus...
It is all depend on treating physician preference. I would feel comfortable treating you with IPL even if you had just stopped using the azelaic acid 1 day prior to your IPL session.
