I had my fourth laser hair removal session for the bikini and underarms areas 48 hours ago. After the treatment, I noticed these burns on my penis and not elsewhere. I know that burns happen sometimes after laser hair removal treatments but are they permanent in my case? Is there anything I can do to treat the burns?

Thank you for your question. Skin on the genital area is usually darker than other areas of the body. If the laser is not set for the difference from one area to another it can result in burns. Consult with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeons office to further evaluate the issue.

You have a dark skin type. The operator used the wrong settings if you have had this same laser before. You will have lighter skin in the burn spots for a while. I might then turn normal or darker than normal. Time will tell but they don't look like a severe burn, so your chances of recovery are pretty good.
