Dear Chris20009,I perform a lot of lip injections with fillers such as juvederm and it works great. Many times I need to put more in one side than the other to attempt to even out the vermillion border (The red line of the lip). This helps provide more symmetry at times. For patients looking for a more long lasting result, I recommend fat grafting. That is, using your own bodies fat to make your lips naturally look more shapely. The bonus is that the results last many many years. In general, I avoid using permanent prosthesis because I find that the lips are such dynamic and sensitive structures, the end result is not natural.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
Volbella, Restylane, and Juvederm are good fillers to use to create a symmetrical lip. NovaThreads can also be used to improve lift and shape. Implants or fat are alternatives. Technique will be important here, so you'll want to see someone meticulous. I recommend getting a formal evaluation...

The incision makes no difference in inserting lip implants as long as the pocket for the implant is dissected properly. It is the implant itself that is important. Personally, however, I have almost abandoned implants in favor of fillers. The silicone implants are too firm and can extrude. The...
Lip Implants move and become problematic. There is no way to reposition the implant and fix it in the new position. Your best bet is remove, let it recover then fillers, fat grafting or SILIKON 1000 injection by an experienced injector.
You may be a candidate for a lip lift rather than repeating fillers. A lip lift does 4 things: shortens the distance between your nose and upper lip, increases the mucosa of the upper lip, increases the incisor show and pulls up the corners. Best Wishes,Gary Horndeski, M.D.
