Different Types of Butt Augmentation A Butt Augmentation involves two procedures, namely a Brazilian Butt Lift and a Butt Implant. A Brazilian Butt Lift is also known as a fat graft, fat transfer, or lipo-injection. This procedure involves harvesting fat from an unwanted area and then preparing it for transfer where it is injected into the buttocks as a living transplant. For an implant, a vertical incision is created between the buttock cheeks in order to insert the implant under or over the gluteal muscles and under the connective tissue. A Butt Lift does not necessarily include augmentation. If your buttock is dropping or sagging without loss of volume, the butt is lifted by tightening the skin around it and removing excess tissue.
Brazilian Butt lift: Is fat transfer to the buttock, this procedure has become sopopular because it enables your plastic surgeon to transform your entireshape. Liposuction is performed overseveral areas depending on the individual patient needs, but typically of theflanks, abdomen, back and thighs. The fat is then processed and used to augment thebuttock. So even though it is called abutt lift, the purpose is to augment the buttock. This fill or enhancement is what allows yoursurgeon to lift your buttock. Butt Augmentation:This is a general term that is used to describe any surgery that increases thesize of the buttock. This can be donewith fat injections (Brazilian Butt Lfit) or with implants. Butt Lift:This is another general term that includes any surgery thatlifts the buttock. The lift can be doneby augmenting or surgically lifting the butt. I would recommend that you see a board certified plasticsurgeon that performs a significant amount of these procedures so they can helpguide you to the surgery that will be best for you.I hope this helps.
These are not buzz words, they describe three very distinct and complex procedures each with their own risks and advantages. Brazilian Butt lift draws from the benefits of liposuction to give women a new butt. When a woman gets a liposuction, they can use the fat they had removed and transfer it to their butts. Fat may be removed from your breast, thighs or abdomen. It can also be stored away for at least 5 years.Butt Augmentation and Butt Lift are also very differnt.
Buttock augmentation can be accomplished by several means: either by a fat transfer (Brazilian butt lift) or by gluteal implants. The preferred method involves fat transfer which uses your own fat to reshape and recontour your entire gluteal/lower back area. Gluteal (buttock implants) are hard, silicone devices which are not as natural feeling as fat. The "lift" portion refers to the fullness and projection of the buttock from the fat which is injected into this area- there is no surgical incision with skin removal. Consult with a board certified plastic surgeon to see which approach is best for your specific anatomy. I prefer fat transfer as it allows me more opportunity for sculpting the entire buttock/lower back/waist/hip area. Best wishes, Dr. Bruno
One of the ways women augment their buttocks is through buttock implants. However, many women prefer a butt lift using their own fat cells. This procedure is called the Brazilian butt lift, or autologous buttock augmentation. Using fat grafting has several benefits over implants. These include: Avoiding use of implants or foreign material. Treatment of multiple areas to enhance overall result. Overall lower complication rates Patient may benefit from losing fat from the donor sites, such as the abdomen (modified liposuction)
Hi there- Buttock Augmentation may be performed in two ways: Buttock Implants Brazilian Butt Lift (your own fat is used to improve your behind) A Butt Lift is a totally different procedure in which loose skin and fat is removed in order to lift and reshape (but not necessarily increase the size of) your behind.
The diff between a Brazilian Butt Lift and Butt Augmentation is that Butt Augmentation is the more general term. The Brazilian Butt Lift is a Butt Augmentation procedure that removes fat from selected areas of your body, purifies the fat, then reinjects selected donor fat cells into your buttocks. A Butt Lift may or may not involve augmentation. If you're buttocks are sagging, but you don't want an augmentation, the butt is lifted by removing tissue and tightening skin. During a Brazilian butt lift liposuction of the back and flanks is performed shaping the top of your buttock, and then the fat obtained from the liposuction is injected into the buttock to give it more shape and volume. The combination of the liposuction and the fat grafting give a curvaceous outline to the torso emphasizing that classic hourglass shape. Liposuction can additionally be performed anywhere else that you have excess fat to give so that you can obtain the maximum result possible. The final result will depend on how much fat you have available to transfer, your skin elasticity, skin laxity and pelvic bone shape. I find that many patients, like you, are often confused about what the difference is between a Brazilian butt lift and a traditional butt lift. The traditional butt lift is also called a lower body lift and when combined with a tummy tuck is often called a belt lipectomy. The traditional butt lift is designed to remove extra sagging skin while hiding the scar along the beltline. The Brazilian butt lift is done with only small 5mm incisions that are nearly imperceptible when fully healed such that no one could ever tell if you ever had plastic surgery. They will just see the result.
But Augmentation just means making the buttocks larger. It does not indicate the manner of enlargement. Brazilian Butt Lift is a term that originated in popular culture, not in the medical community. It has come to signify the addition of fat to the buttocks by fat grafting techniques and the "lifting" effect that comes from adding fat volume to the buttocks. It can be thought of the same way that a balloon becomes more full and "lifted" with the addition of more air. A true butt lift is part of a lower body lift and involves the removal of excess skin from the buttocks and outer thighs when both areas are not only flat but also significantly sagging. This usually happens in people with s history of massive weight loss. Consult with an experienced board certified plastic surgeon to determine which procedure is best for you!
Mai, Buttock augmentation can be done either with implants or using your own fat (Brazilian Butt Lift). Both techniques provide a "butt lift" as well. There are other surgical techniques used to perform buttock lifting, which are usually more for the massive weight loss or loose skin patient. Have a consultation with a plastic surgeon that can show you some pictures of both and explain the differences if you haven't already learned them here. Good luck!
