Can a Diastema Be Too Big to Fix? (photo)

Question

I have an oversized labial frenum causing diastema... huge diastema. My upper teeth are like gap city.. I have tried to do some research and I have come up with diddly. My parents could never afford to give me braces and I now feel that, as a result of my research, the only option is to cut my teeth out and have them replaced altogether? I can never be happy like this. I just want to know what it's like to smile without fear. =/

Hi, it seems the Diastema is too big to be corrected with veneers or crowns alone. Also the teeth are too much labially inclined so you will need to reduce too much tooth structure removed for getting good alignment. Frenectomy, followed by orthodontics and then smile designing would be the best course of treatment. Good Luck.

Braces can reduce the diastema but unfortunately you will need some veneer/crowns as per your picture for better esthetics but braces can help the situation where dentist doen't need to cut your teeth as much e.g minimum prep veneers. Best of luck
