Spironolactone, oily skin. Been off it for 6 weeks and things are just starting to return.

I took spironolactone for 10 weeks , stopped because I saw no improvement in my acne, oily skin and excess hair. About week and a half after stopping acne, oily skin and excess hair started to get better. is it likely that the medication started to work been off it now for 6 weeks and things only just starting to return would be grateful for the advice Thank you

Hello and thank you for your question. Generally, spironolactone does not cause spider veins. If you are looking for acne treatment, I would recommend consulting a board certified dermatologist for evaluation of your skin and discussion of appropriate treatment. Best of luck.

I have been unimpressed with Spironolactone for Seborrhea.  I would recommend scheduling an appointment with a Dermatologist at 8 weeks after starting medication for an alternative treatment plan.  What you see is what you get at that point, typically.
