Switch from Finastride to Dutesteride?

Hi, Currently I’m using Minoxidil cream and liquid nearly for 6 months and finastride for 8 months up to now I haven’t seen any result and it’s getting worse and worse day by day. Would you recommend me to switch from Fin to Dutes 0.5 and also from Minoxidil cream to Minoxidil liquid. Thanks

Hello,Dutasteride theoretically has more potency for hair preservation than Finasteride but a higher side effect profile as well.  The use of dutasteride for hair loss is an off-label use according to the FDA.  Typically regrowth of both agents occurs in areas where the hair is miniaturized and not where slick baldness occurs.  Consider the use of regenerative techniques such as PRP and others and the use of nutraceuticals such as Nutrafol which have a much better side effect profile.Best, Dr. Anil Shah

If you think about it, maybe your hair loss is going faster because of the genes and not that finasteride has failed to work. Dutasteride is not proven safe by the fDA for hair loss
