How long should pain in jaw last after tooth extraction with bone graft? Procedure was 12/13/17.

Question

I have pretty bad pain in my jaw that sometimes goes into my ear and eye socket. I took the full course of antibiotics. I have been taking Aleve for the pain but it is really not doing much. I am not chewing on that side and my stitches are still intact, they are being removed today.

Hi DZ,With an extraction soreness and discomfort are to be expected, and it will take some time for everything to settle. A common problem after surgery is dry socket and it can be painful. You should go in to see your dentist and have them take a look.Best of luck
