Thank you for your question. There are many methods of scar treatment, and efficacy often depends on the age of the scar. For younger scars, say less than a year, treatments such as silicone sheeting, or injection with steroids may help. There are also laser treatments that have proven effective. Lastly, especially for older scars, excision may be the best option. There are pros and cons to each, and it's important to have a discussion with your doctor regarding them.
