Can dentists perform bichectomies?

Planning on getting a buccal fat removal and came across an oral surgeon/dentist who performs bichectomies. Is it ok or any more/less recommended than getting this procedure done by an actual cosmetic surgeon? This dentist performs braces services as well as wisdom teeth removals.
