Possible ear keloid, will United insurance cover the cost of removal? (photos)

Question

I believe I may have a keloid on my ear behind the earlobe. I do have other keloid scars on my body on arm, back, chest and leg. My mother has keloid. The one on the ear is the newest - less than 2 years old and has been growing. It itches and burns at times but my concern here is mostly aesthetic. I am in the North Texas area. What would the experts here recommend? Will United insurance cover this and approximately what can I expect this to cost? Thanks for any help.

Hello Moneytalksbswalks,Insurance can cover keloids in certain circumstances.  It all depends on where it is, what symptoms it is causing, what treatments you have done before, and your individual plan.  I would suggest you contact your insurance company directly to see if your particular plan includes keloid treatment.  As far as costs, that will vary based on the size and location of the keloid, your plans deductible, and who you have treat the keloid.  I hope this helps and good luck.
