Forehead muscles temporarily contract 6+wks after Xeomin

Question

Even after 6+ weeks, if I rub my forehead with pressure, it frequently causes my muscles to temporarily contract into a scowl or comically concerned look. It doesn't take an excessive amount of pressure. I gently massage back the right direction & it goes back after a min or so. I DO NOT rub my forehead when I get injected, or in the days after. I'm diligently gentle after being injected. It happens with both Xeomin & Botox, & different injectors. Why does it happen?

Over time, the effects of botulinum toxins like Xeomin wear off as the nerve endings regenerate and begin to send signals to the muscles again. Six weeks is relatively early in the typical efficacy window, which usually lasts 3-4 months, but individual variation in metabolism or muscle response can sometimes cause an earlier onset of muscle activity. Variability in the way the Xeomin was injected, including the depth and specific sites targeted, could also affect how long the muscle relaxation lasts. If the injections were not evenly distributed or targeted precisely, it might result in uneven muscle activity. Additionally, personal factors such as the rate of metabolism, muscle strength, or immune response can influence how long Xeomin remains effective. Some people may experience a quicker onset of muscle contraction as the effects of the toxin begin to diminish. I hope this helps and best of luck!
