Prior to getting braces i had a gap between my front teeth and a twisted canines. I got fixed retainers placed at the top and bottom but when I try to bite my bottom teeth hit the top retainers meaning that none of my teeth touch are touching. This makes chewing difficult. My dentist said next apt he will remove the top bonded retainers and just give me the removable retainers to wear only at night. However I am scared that my teeth will relapse. What shall I do?
