Is it true that minoxidil can have a side effect called “moon face”?

Typically "moon facie" refers to the swollen appearance that can occur with the use of adrenal steroids.I am not aware of this effect occurring with the use of Minoxidil.However,Minoxidil is associated with hirsutism-growth of hair on the face and arms (especially in women).

A small proportion of minoxidil users report fluid retention which has many forms including weight gain (due to fluid), facial swelling and several other variations. Speak to your physician if concerns persist.
