Can led red light therapy cause premature aging as suggested by some recent research?

Hi, I've purchased an at-home LED mask with the intention of using the red light function to improve skin laxity and texture (approx 630nm). However, I've read some alarming journal articles that suggest that exposure to red light can actually accelerate aging long-term. Interested to hear some professional opinions. Thank you

Thank you for your question, Fraxel and/or CO2 are best for resurfacing, but Erbium is a good alternative. I always combine lasers with microneedling/PRP for more robust outcomes. For skin tightening, I recommend a combination of Ultherapy with RF treatments and Sculptra for skin tightening. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist. Best, Dr. Emer
