Is my bone graft starting to become infected? (Photo)

Question

Hello I had a bone graft done five days ago and notice above both my front teeth seems yellow.. I'll be asking my surgent when open but meanwhile. Any advice ? Does my implant seem to be infected ?

Hi and thank you for your question.
The area looks very good. If you compare the coloration of the gums from one side to the other they look similar. I don't believe you have an infection. Anyways I think is to early for you to have developed an infection. If you have an increase in pain and swelling, possibly a fever then you can think of an infection. I am sure you surgeon has an after hours phone that you can call him or her.

Hi:Not necessarily.  While the area is healing the gum may change color to yellow and white before it heals.  However, it is best to consult your surgeon.Best,Dr. Maddahi
